LET'S BE REAL IN OUR WORSHIP OF HIM.

LET'S BE REAL IN OUR WORSHIP OF HIM.

John  4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Worship God in spirit and truth. Be real about it! Meet God in spirit with the reality and the actuality.

When God comes down in worship to heal your blindness, will God see a blind man who needs healing or a blind man appearing to be seeing before all men because he is pretending, and not because he is truly seeing?

What's more important to you? Your healing or your faked personality?

All the people Jesus saw and healed in when He walked this earth were in the real or actual state of their condition and showed the real state of their condition, and communicated the real state of their conditions! And Jesus attended to them accordingly!

Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaeus.

John 5:-9 The man with the infirmity for 38 years. etc.

Matthew  15:30  And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:

Who are the 'them' that He healed? The Bible says and he healed 'them'. WHo are they? The answer is right there in the passage. The lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others! All of whom came in the condition for the need of help, not in a disguised appearance and outlook to deceive men!

Are you worshiping God in spirit and in truth? Here, I am not just talking about worship as limited to music only. I am talking about that, and our whole life style in service to God as an act of worship. Jesus said the hour is coming and further established now is the hour,  when the TRUE  WORSHIPPERS shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Whats that supposed to mean? It means there are bunch of self acclaimed worshippers of God out there who are FAKE! FAKE WORSHIPPERS! All we doing has no bearing of being in spirit and truth! We faking it! We more concerned about peoples perception of us than of God. We are more concerned about men than about God! So our worship is to suit and meet the expectations of men, our carnal will and desires, than God. When it comes to worship in relation to music like we do in church, instead of worshiping in spirit and truth, we worship in the flesh and in pretence. We worship in a dignified dress and sophisticated personalities that prevents us from kneeling down when truly as of the very moment, you feel in your heart to kneel down, maybe lie down, role on the ground in appreciation and adoration of your maker, the one who has provided for you so much so that you look and feel dignified and too sophisticated. In spirit you are moved in your heart, and in truth, you wish to kneel, role on the ground, raise your hand, cry out etc, but then steps in the pretence and flesh! Worshipping in truth and Spirit is quickly usurped by worshiping in pretence, hypocrisy and the flesh! You quickly switch to reasoning. High sounding reasonings why you shouldn't kneel, or show God love, or raise your hands or role on the floor, or even sing out as you are prompted to do in your heart.  You begin to consider who is standing next to you. Who is watching you.  What will they think of you? The cost of your expensive dress. The inconvenience of your high heel. The perception of ladies in the church when they see you kneel. You are a dignified handsome fine boy! NONSENSE!

When it's church time when we must go to the house of God to offer due worship, we find a way to make excuses based on carnal reasons why we can't make it. We always have high sounding reasons and are always ready to debate our stand, when in spirit and in truth, we know we are being carnal and not being real with God. We are not being real at all. Some of us, even mere social gatherings and appointments we have to meet, when they crash with our appointment with God on a Church day, we quickly do away with our appointment with God and fulfil the other. We are not worshiping God in spirit and in truth. I mean, calculate the hours that make up your week, and calculate how many of those hours God demands of you to spend in fellowship with Him in His house and see if there is any real reason good enough for you to rob God of those few hours. If there is no real reason, where then is our worship of God in spirit and in truth when God requires it from us? We worship God out of convenience. David said in Psalm 23 that God MAKES HIM LIE DOWN in green pastures. There are some of us who claim God is our shepherd like David said, yet, unlike David, God can't make us do anything. God can't make us lie down! God can't make us attend Sunday service regularly.  God can't make us tithe. God can't make us come and execute our ministerial duties in His House on days that doesn't favour us. God can't make us do anything for Him if it doesn't fall in our convenience! If God is your shepherd, like David, He must be able to make you do things! And it's amazing the inconvenience some of us go through just to satisfy carnal appointments but won't go through same for God! We ought to choose commitment over convenience. When God's demand from you interferes with your convenience,  let your commitment be greater. Let your inclination towards commitment be greater than towards convenience. Things won't always be convenient for us in our worship of God. But we must be determined to be committed to worshiping God in spirit and in truth rather than worshiping God in carnality and pretence for our convenience. Beloved it's about time we worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Let's be real and switch to the Spirit. Blind Bartimaeus,  didn't pretend to be seeing when He heard that Jesus was passing by. No! In his blind state, he cried out with a loud voice for help. The woman with the issue of blood didn't pretend to be all well till the service was over then approach Jesus. She came with her issue as it was, against all odds, and she received her healing. Why should God attend to you when you make it seem to Him you don't need help. A lot of us are not worshiping God in spirit and truth. Our worship of God is more influenced by our flesh and thereby result in pretence. Our actions and doings and even our prayer, doesn't communicate our real state to God. We are blind, walking and stumbling all over yet pretend to be seeing and relate with God like that. You behave towards God as though all is well with you when truly... You are not worshiping in spirit and in TRUTH!

Blind Bartimaeus, didn't beat around the bush nor pretend about his need for sight recovery!  When asked by Jesus what he needs him to do for him, he said, "Lord, that I might receive my sight!". He communicated his exact need.

The woman who was told this very statement: " But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.", demonstrated this key of worshiping God in Spirit and in truth, and she received a great deliverance! Jesus asked her to go bring her husband,  knowing very well she is with a man who is not her husband and has been with five already. This woman could have pretended to be with a real husband and could have gone to bring him, but she was frank. She acknowledged even though she is with a man, she is not married to him and thus he is not her husband. That was the begining of great and mighty things in the life of this woman. By the close of the day, she turned into an evangelist that won all the men of the town to Christ!  There is no telling what our lives will be if we submit to God and worship Him in spirit and in truth! She didn't leave Jesus rudely as though all is well with her and she didn't need Jesus' help. She didn't attend to other convenient things like fetching the water which was her sole reason for coming to the well. All her conversation with Jesus was a demonstration of her need for help from Jesus. She asked for the water of life when Jesus told her He could give her that. She truthfully told Jesus of her marital state. She was not influenced by pride nor pretence. She was spiritual and operated in truth! For every encounter one will have with Jesus is a spiritual encounter no matter how physical it looks and will always have a spiritual bearing. For even His mere words are spirit and life! It is only they that worship God in spirit and in truth, that will meet God in their lives, for the Father seeketh such!

No body told Hannah to pray the way she prayed and for what she prayed.  Hannahs prayer wasnt a direction prayer from any man of GOD at all. Infact, the priest of the time was even surprised at her kind of prayer. It was just a prayer in spirit and in truth. She stood up from meal when it was meal time and the family was enjoying meal and went straight to prayer because the truth of her situation was that she needed a baby,  not a good meal, there fore she had to switch to something spiritual than sitting and dinning as though all is well. She switched to the Spirit! She can't pretend to be alright and be eating when in truth, she needed a baby. She rised up to the truth of her life. One advantage of worshipping God in spirit and in truth is, it helps you to be sincere to your own self! When you are true to God, you are true to yourself! Hannah,  going to God in the truth of her case and in spirit as prayer is a spiritual activity, was in turn being real and truthful to her self, that she needs a baby, not a good meal and great promises of her husband. Worshiping God in Spirit and truth frees you from living a delusioned life! Hmm!  I just love this word! Delusion. Some of you, by the time you will wake up to the truth of yourself, it will be too late for you to receive help.

There are times in worship you sense a desire in your heart to cry out to God, but hei,  you tell your self in your mind,  "easy, easy, this ain't no world cup! Its just a couple of music to God. Chill!" And you chill, because of your class, status, appearance, etc! God knows where we kneel down and cry because of human beings. Mercy!

I will end with these quotes again,

"When God comes down in your worship of Him to heal your blindness, will God see a blind man who needs healing or a blind man appearing to be seeing before all men because he is pretending?"

"When God comes down to heal your barrenness, will He meet a barren woman who is approaching Him in spirit and truth or a woman at meal enjoying good delicacies as though all is well with her"

WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH!
