STAND OUT!
STAND OUT!
Matthew 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 7:29 FOR HE TAUGHT THEM AS ONE HAVING AUTHORITY, AND NOT AS THE SCRIBES.
Over the years, as I watch and observe a whole lot of happenings around me and things that goes on in the lives of people around me, I realised one key hindrance to the manifestation of our true self is the fear of being different. We all want to conform. How is everybody doing it? When we find the answer, then We do same. So we fail to stand out. We fail to manifest fully what God has deposited in us. Because, more often than not, what God has deposited in you, even though may build on what others might have started under the very influence of God, will have a touch of difference from theirs. To serve a purpose that might not be readily obvious. Then comes the criticisms of men. But you must be bold and firm. Jesus came to meet the scribes, Pharisees etc preaching and teaching and doing what was best to their knowledge. But you see, the same teaching they were doing, He came to do, but people were astonished at His. And the reason for this astonishment wasn’t hidden from us. The Bible told us clearly. And it’s just because He taught them as one having AUTHORITY and NOT AS the scribes. Read my anchor scriptures above.
The scribes taught and Jesus taught. But there was a touch of difference. This is what is missing in the lives of a lot of us. We want to follow the status quo at all cost. If Jesus had taught as the scribes taught, nobody would have been astonished at His teaching and there would have been no significant difference of His teaching from that of the scribes. Consequently, His teaching wouldn’t have been the center of attraction of the people. Because it would have been normal and as usual.
Most of us are not affecting lives because we are doing the same old things! If we will ever stand out and prevail and fulfil purpose, we must be willing and determined to be different. We must have a strong believe in God’s will for our lives and live in accordance to that no matter how contradictory it looks to the opinion and views of men. It’s not easy. It’s Not easy to be different. It’s not easy to stand out. It’s not easy to go in the opposite direction of where everybody is going. You know the hard opposition Jesus faced because of His kind and style of teaching. But trust me, it’s more difficult to be what you are not just because you want to conform. If its God’s will and call for your life to do different from what your predecessors are doing, it’s worth it. Take that turn. Jesus prayed many times in the Bible. But one of His prayers of utmost importance for me and I think we all should pray that prayer more often is, “…nevertheless not my will, but your will be done… “. This is one of the most important prayers to pray after the prayer of salvation I believe. Because sometimes our very will is to conform to what’s popular and going on around us and thereby contradict God’s will for us which calls us to stand out. But I pray to God, that from today onwards, we will price above every other will, God’s will for us. That we will stand out in accordance to God’s will, and fulfil purpose.
STAND OUT!
NB: DON’T GO PARADING YOURSELF AROUND DOING AWKWARD THINGS, REBELLING AND GOING WAYWARD IN THE NAME OF I WANT TO STAND OUT. JESUS SAID WHATEVER HE SEES THE FATHER DOING, THATS WHAT HE DOES! John 5:19. BE LEAD BY GOD, NOT BY ARROGANCE AND PRIDE!! BY GODS INSPIRATION I FOLLOW SOME MEN OF GOD AND LEARN FROM THEM. VERY VERY HARD. BUT WHEN I PICK THE MIKE, I SEE THE DIFFERENCE. YOU CAN STILL STAND OUT WHILE FOLLOWING. BE LED!
