1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Every form of change in life is never accidental but intentional. If you want to see a positive change in this life, you must intend to change. It wont happen by chance. You must put up that effort. The Apostle Paul made this fact clear in the scripture above. He had a lot of experiences in this life, and statements of such folks who have gone through so great stuff must be taken serious. He said when he was a child, he spoke as a child, he didnt intend to do so, but being a child, he naturally spoke as one.
But when he came a man, he didnt automatically speak as one, neither did he understand as a man, nor thought he as one. Because all his life he hasnt been a man before but a child. So when he gained consciousness of fact that agewise, he has grown beyond the age one can be recognised as a child, he had to decide to put away those childish ways to be trully a man. You know what that means? It means he would have still been a child, spoke as child, understood as a child and thought as a child despite the fact that he is now a man by age, just because he hasnt proven by deed that he is a man. That stands to reason that change must be intentional. And what one hopes to change into, one must practically exhibit traits of such. What you want to become, you must be in deed. As you demonstrate in deed, you become indeed. You must become what you want to be, to be who you want to be. Thats why the Bible says as many as believed in him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God. He didnt make us sons of God automatically. No. He gave us the power to become. Thats potential. What you are capable of doing, that you have not yet done. Now you got the power to become what ever you want to become. You are not yet it, but you have what it takes to be it, because it's right there in you. So how do you become it. You become it by being it. Living it out practically. Apostle Paul said when he became a man, he didnt automatically speak as a man, nor understood he like one, neither did he think like one. But what did he that really proved he is now a man indeed? He put away the old deeds that categorised him among children. What are those? He stopped speaking as a child. That stands to reason that he begun speaking as a man. He stopped understanding things like a child. That stands to reason that he begun understanding things like man. He stopped thinking like a child. What does that mean? It means he begun thinking as a man. Thats it. He proved who he wants to become by doing what those who are who he wants to become do. What do you want do in life? What change do you want to see? It is all in what you do. Prove your change by what you do. Dont wait for the change.
It all starts from the mind. What you dont mentally conceive, you cannot practically deliver.
Nothing can change the man whose mind is not prepared to change. And nothing can stop the man whose mind is prepared to change.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Until you renew your mind about that which you want to change, you cant achieve and prove that change in your life.
The proof of change is in the changed mind. RENEW YOUR MIND!!!!!
